Childrens Photography in CT is all about capturing those defining milestone moments. The moment when your baby arrives, or the moment when they sit up on their own for the very first time. In the photography world, we call this a ‘sitter session’. A special photoshoot dedicated to capturing the first big occasion of your baby’s life. 

There are so many changes throughout your baby’s first year. From the time you bring them in for their newborn photos, until the time they celebrate their first birthday, they have grown in a way that is hardly imaginable. Along the way, they’ve learned so many things it's almost impossible to believe this once tiny and so fragile newborn is now walking on their very own. It’s a year full of wonder and awe. Making it worthy of a celebration each step of the way.

Some of my most cherished moments in the CT studio are capturing childrens photography. Especially when the session includes giggles, big smiles, and having fun with some of your favorite toys. The sweet boy with the fluffy hair featured below is sitting up on his very fun. To honor the moment, his family scheduled a sitter session. A moment to spend delighting at his new ability. But, above all, a moment to freeze time for just a second and savor it all.

During these sessions, I like to make it fun and interactive for the child. It’s true that once a baby has figured out how to navigate on their own, they are ready to take on the world. So, it should come as no surprise that they have no interest in sitting still and smiling for the camera. After all, who can blame them?! They want to play and explore the world around them. Which is something I welcome during their session.

Whether it’s playing with a favorite toy, or allowing Mom or Dad (or even both) to step in front of the camera. This is baby’s moment to have fun and fill the photo studio with giggles that will melt your heart and be etched in your memory forever. In addition to bringing along some of baby’s favorite toys, I also highly recommend bringing along their favorite dry snack and a change of attire. Having a change of clothes on hand for the photo shoot will help us create a varied experience out of your images. A variety of attire adds different colors and textures to your photos while keeping the sole focus on your baby's sweet smile and round cheeks.
