Maternity Photographer CT

I had the pleasure of working with Amanda and her husband for the photos features below. I know, many times, maternity photography in CT is such a wonderful way for a woman to celebrate her power and her femininity. But I also understand that welcoming a new baby is a happiness that the entire family experiences. So I openly welcome husbands, partners, and smaller children (who are about to become big brothers and big sisters) to join the photoshoot as well. Amanda’s husband was over the moon to step in front of the camera with her to honor their new baby. So this particular session featured a multifaceted approach. In curating this session, I wanted to portray Amanda’s empowering moment. But I also wanted their child to someday see that Dad was happily waiting to meet them.

To create images that had this approach in mind, making Amanda feel beautiful was one of my top priorities. As a maternity photographer in CT, I offer the moms I work with a professional hair and makeup experience to enhance their natural beauty. But also to allow them a moment to embody the glow of their pregnancy. Getting to know my moms during the planning process of their photoshoot, something I hear time and time again is how they don’t exactly feel like the best versions of themselves. I listen to their concerns and I work with them on a personal level. This helps me figure out what they need at that moment in order to capture maternity photos they can comfortably hang on the walls of their home.

When I work with expectant moms, their session is typically scheduled anywhere from 30-38 weeks. They are in their third trimester and getting ready to welcome their baby into the world. They are dreaming of 10 little toes sleeping sweetly in the bassinet that has been set up in the nursery. Usually, the last thing on their minds is feeling beautiful. Which is my wish for them. To take this time towards the end of their pregnancy to cherish where their body has brought them on this journey. Wardrobe is another important aspect of achieving this feeling. As Amanda’s CT maternity photographer, I worked with her to establish a wardrobe that had a clean, classic feeling. We used an assortment of flowing silks, a black off-the-shoulder body con dress, a traditional white button-down shirt, and a baby blue maternity gown with sheer flowing layers.
