A maternity photoshoot in CT is a time for reflection and celebration. It’s a way of capturing this special moment in your life before your baby makes their way into the world. But it’s also a way to honor your body for carrying your child throughout the duration of your pregnancy. So often, I work with parents to photograph their newborns. Or, I work with families; Moms, Dads, and siblings to capture everyone together as one big loving unit. But time and time again, I hear the same sentiments from each of those Moms. ‘I wish I would have come to you for maternity photos’. It’s a moment in time that cannot be recreated once it has passed and it is a moment in time that is deserving of a professional photoshoot.

I understand that the Moms I work with for a maternity photoshoot in CT, don’t always feel entirely ready for stepping in front of the camera. After all, Moms deal with a host of changes and disruptions to their bodies during pregnancy. But during the time I work with them, my sole focus is to make them feel beautiful and deserving of this once-in-a-lifetime experience. For the maternity photoshoot in CT featured here, we went into session with the objective of making Mom feel both stunning and elegant.

Along with the use of professional hair and makeup, we honed in on a wardrobe that would make Mom glow while emphasizing her beautiful baby bump. Beautiful silk garments were used to add an ethereal look to her photos. Using lightweight attire during your maternity photoshoot in CT is a fantastic way to add movement to your photos. A light amount of manufactured wind provided an added amount of drama with Mom's dress dancing in the air behind her. I always encourage Moms to wear whatever jewelry they like to their photoshoot for a layer of refinement. But I have to admit, when it comes to props, I find the use of florals to be the best addition to a maternity photoshoot.
After working with a selection of flowing fabrics, we moved on to dresses and bodysuits that were designed to adorn the baby bump. A chic white dress with a cape and a boho hat turned Mom’s look from ethereal to editorial. In keeping with that same level of sophistication, we also alternated looks with a long-sleeved black gown. Thus creating a simplistic silhouette that beautifully focused on the mom-to-be. To wrap things up, we worked with a collection of maternity bodysuits. We began with a soft and sheer ivory lace garment before finishing with a black turtleneck bodysuit. Each of these pieces was impactful for the photoshoot in its own way. One bringing with it the glow and softness reminiscent of a nursery. The other bringing a layer of sophistication. You can see each of the looks captured for this beautiful mom-to-be, through the photos featured below.
