Newborn Photographer CT

As a newborn photographer in CT, I’m often one of the first to glimpse of those tender 10 fingers and 10 toes when they are welcomed into the world. The parents I work with often bring their cherished newborns into my studio to capture those first few moments when they are earthside. Sometimes, that happens prior to extended family members meeting the baby. This can be for a number of reasons. First, some parents want to create an official birth announcement to be sent to their family and require professional photos to print up the announcements.

But mostly, Moms and Dads want to soak up those first handful of weeks in the newborn bubble with snuggles, before inviting family over to their home. It’s a time when the rest of the world melts away and you are filled with joy at the site of this beautiful child who has entered your life and your heart.

The best time to schedule your newborn photos is within the 2-4 weeks of their arrival. I want to assure the parents I work with, that as a newborn photographer in CT,  I take every safety precaution within my studio as I prepare to greet them and their baby. It can feel scary or uncertain to take your newborn out during such an early time in their life. They are still so small and you fear for their safety. My space is a safe and welcoming environment where lifelong memories are made to commemorate the time your child was so small they fit safely in your arms.

Moms and Dads are also welcome and encouraged to step in front of the camera with their baby. I understand that your days have been filled with sleepless nights, feeding schedules, and a blur of follow-up doctor appointments. But your presence at this moment; loving your newborn and cradling them sweetly, is just as important as capturing their sweet round cheeks, sleepy yawns, and outstretched fingers. Professional hair and makeup are always offered, but optional, and the sole focus of your session is on cherishing this beautiful time spent with the baby you’ve longed to hold in your arms.

I offer a variety of wraps and settings for newborn photos as well. The wraps and blankets I have on hand are in a variety of soft tones and they are always fully washed and available during your session. But, you are always welcome to bring in your own attire or accessories. Families often have heirloom items they wish to adorn their baby with and the most amazing time to use those blankets, wraps, and clothing is during the photoshoot.

Oftentimes, parents will ask me about the best colors to dress their baby in. Tones of white, cream, or ivory work beautifully in front of the camera. If you desire something with a bit more color, I highly recommend muted tones of earthy shades. This will allow me to keep the focus of your photos squarely on the soft details of your baby’s features.
